Los Angeles, CA -- February 13, 2019 -- Barry McLaughlin and Jason Lautenschleger, the creators of Game Night in a Can and Dr. Biscuits’ Radical Road Trip, have teamed up with Crazy Aaron and his team of mad scientists to create the Ultimate Putty Challenge, a funny, creative, and active tabletop party game that includes 25 different challenges and “tabletop events” that use Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty.!
“There are so many different possibilities with this putty, and a thousand ways to play with it, so creating these games was a blast. We definitely looked like lunatics while we were brainstorming, and can’t wait for families to play it,” said Barry.
The games include putty versions of skeeball, corn hole, and mini-golf, artistic sculpting games, putty-flinging catapults and more.
While working on this collaboration, Barry and Jason’s second game, Dr. Biscuits’ Radical Road Trip, became a finalist for the Toy Association’s Game of the Year award. This travel game features 60 fantastic mini-games to play in your car, and it’s all in a self-contained package with a dry erase score board under the lid, a spinner attached to the box, and all 60 games in a small spiral-bound book.
“We were really surprised by the lack of interesting travel games out there, and we noticed that kids were spending most of their time in cars staring at devices, so this is our entertaining way to change all that,” said Jason.
Barry and Jason met on their first day of college at UCLA in the 90s and have collaborated ever since then. They have also been contestants on over 10 game shows between them, including Jeopardy for Jason, and winning the Showcase Showdown on The Price is Right for Barry. Now they have 2 games in stores across the country, a game show based on Game Night in a Can being developed with a major studio, and 4 more games in the works. They also keep busy hosting live game night events around the country.
