Tuxedo, NY – Feb. 5, 2016 – When the Guidecraft design team decided to combine PowerClix® Solids, Frames and Organics magnetic building pieces together to create a premier STEM toy series, they also wanted to create a themed story with characters that would bring the series to life and encourage dramatic play as well. Designer and President of Guidecraft, Gary Bilezikian, recalled seeing the prolific artwork of teenager, Ethan Wadsworth, the child of art school friends. The friendly and adventurous style of Ethan’s characters proved to be a perfect fit for the new sets. His comic strips, illustrated backdrops and adorable characters add a creative, artistic and imaginative element to the successful building toy.
The first set in the series is centered around a Space theme. Throughout the Creativity Guide which accompanies all PowerClix® sets, children can not only get inspiration for builds, but they can explore the universe with Space Guy and his friend, commandeering spaceships and fighting evil aliens they have created themselves.
The second PowerClix® Explorer Series set is themed around Architecture from all parts of the world. Children will explore international architecture styles with Ethan's Explorer Frog as they build and scale amazing structures together.
Read the interview with Ethan Wadsworth here to learn all about his inspirations. Ethan is available at Toy Fair New York Booth #2507 on Saturday, Feb. 13th and Sunday Feb. 14th for interviews.
