POWERUP to exhibit full assortment of STEM products at Toy Fair
Edutech range presented in New York alongside online learning platform Flight Deck

(Tel Aviv, Feb. 18, 2017) - POWERUP announces today that they will exhibit their full assortment of educational technology products at the North American International Toy Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from February 18 to 21, 2017.

A growing number of schools and other groups are integrating POWERUP products into their instruction, creating engaging learning opportunities with multiple applications.

“Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts are important building blocks for success.” said Shai Goitein, Founder of POWERUP. “Our products aim to teach the principles of aerodynamics while developing knowledge and skills through invention and outdoor play.”

The core collection includes three DIY electric-powered paper airplanes. Designed for kids ages 8 to university, each has increasing levels of complexity that can be built upon. They are available for sale on the POWERUP website as well as popular retailers including Amazon and Target.

POWERUP 2.0 - Free Flight Electric Paper Airplane

2.0 takes a homemade paper plane and powers it for up to 30 seconds of flight with a 20 second charge. The kit includes directions for making four paper airplanes, and links to additional plan designs. A carbon fiber propeller shaft and durable propeller make for a virtually unbreakable design. 2.0 comes with classroom curriculum and can also be purchased in a STEM Classroom kit.

POWERUP 3.0 - Smartphone Controlled Paper Airplane

This Amazon bestseller transforms an ordinary paper plane into an app controlled machine. 3.0 has a durable, crash-proof design that can be steered left or right by tilting the smartphone, and the throttle can be increased or decreased to ascend or descend. 3.0 is also available in a STEM Pack with Hacker Package which lets hackers build an app controlled paper airplane from scratch, or develop their own open source smartphone app.

POWERUP FPV - First Person View Paper Airplane

FPV is the first ever paper airplane drone with live-streaming camera. Wearing a smartphone with a Google Cardboard head-mounted display, pilots see what the plane sees, and control the paper drone with intuitive head movements. FPV comes with a full, open source software development kit. The product was recently named a CES 2017 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree for Drones and Unmanned Systems.

Exhibiting alongside the core POWERUP products at the Toy Fair is Flight Deck, an online platform that lets pilots discover, learn and share all of the creative ways to use design powered paper airplanes. Powered by Workbench and available through Clever, Flight Deck offers instructors tools to assign projects to a class or group and monitor those projects in real time. Users can discover projects and tutorials, explore a gallery of videos and images uploaded by the community and share their own POWERUP adventures.

Leveraging Flight Deck, POWERUP plans to sponsor an international powered paper airplane champion challenge in June 2017. Interested parties may sign up on the company website to receive updates.
