January 8, 2016 | The Toy Industry Association (TIA) will present new research about the U.K. and Canadian toy markets at the 113th North American International Toy Fair next month. The educational sessions will be held as part of TIA’s ongoing efforts to help toymakers identify and capture valuable export opportunities.
Experts from global consultancies Altios International and Kidz Global will present commissioned research findings on the U.K. and Canada’s market demographics and economic growth, children’s routines and play choices, brand awareness and preferences, primary retail and distribution channels, cultural gift-giving occasions, media opportunities, and more.
“The U.K. is Europe’s largest toy market and has the highest spend-per-child on toys and games. Canada’s proximity to the U.S. and our successful trading relationship provide opportunities worth exploring,” said Anne McConnell, TIA’s director of market research and data strategy.
“TIA is committed to helping members and businesses strategize and make informed decisions about expansion. Information in these reports, along with other encouraging news about toy sales that led up to the 2015 holiday season, should help toy companies with their global planning. Toy Fair is the perfect forum to discuss these opportunities,” McConnell added.
The Canada session will take place on February 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; and the U.K. session will be presented from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. These sessions are free for TIA members and the cost for non-members is $179 for either or both presentations. Non-members: Save more than $90 when you register for both TIA’s Licensing Content Connection and the Global Market Research Package.
At Toy Fair 2014, TIA presented commissioned research on the Brazilian and Chinese toy markets, and at Toy Fair 2015, TIA presented commissioned research on the Australian, Mexican and U.S. toy markets. TIA members may access those reports free of charge through the Association’s website.
