El Segundo, Calif. (February 11, 2020) – Winter is off to a blazing-hot start in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), as Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) serves up three spicy new releases in fan-favorite flavors! First on the menu, the long-loved Shaddoll monsters are back like never before, with a new generation of cards that transcend the theme’s DARK history with new Attributes, new Fusion Monsters and even brand-new artwork for Shaddoll classics! From there we revisit some of the newest themes of the year with Ignition Assault Special Edition. The set that brought us Ai’s “@Ignister” strategy, the Ancient Warriors and the Plunder Patroll is back again, this time with some Super Rare variants and a fan-friendly price point. Finally, we close out the month of March with the incredible Duel Overload box set! With 56 new cards including 30 new Link Monsters, the all-Ultra Rare release contains a mix of awesome new cards and epic reprints.
The Shaddolls have been one of the strongest Fusion strategies in all of Dueling – now they’re about to become more powerful, breaking the bonds of the DARK Attribute with 3 new Main Deck monsters! All 3 newcomers have a different Attribute, a unique Special Summon effect and an ability that triggers when you send them to the Graveyard. Those 3 new “Shaddoll” monsters make the perfect Fusion Material for El Shaddoll Apkallone, a new Fusion Monster Summoned with any 2 Shaddolls of different Attributes. Indestructible in battle, Apkallone negates the effects of any 1 card on the field if you Special Summon it, and when it finally goes to the Graveyard you can retrieve any “Shaddoll” card from your Deck or Graveyard, add it to your hand, and discard 1 card. Discard a Shaddoll to trigger another effect!
The new Trap Card Resh Shaddoll Incarnation is a great option to look for. You can activate it to revive a Shaddoll from your Graveyard face-up or face-down, putting your best moves on repeat. You can also banish it from your Graveyard along with any other “Shaddoll” card to flip a monster you control face-up or face-down. The new cards in Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown breathe new life into the classic theme with more combos and stellar support. But even the most time-honored Shaddolls get an update! Favorites like El Shaddoll Construct are back, this time with all-new artwork.
Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown erupts into stores on February 14 with 1 Beginner’s Guide, 1 Double-sided Deluxe Game Mat/Dueling Guide, and 49 cards across the Main and Extra Decks: 39 Commons, 7 Super Rares, and 3 Ultra Rares. MSRP: $9.99 per box.
Ignition Assault debuted in January, introducing Ai’s “@Ignister” strategy from the final arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS animated series, as well as the Ancient Warrior, Megalith and Plunder Patroll themes! Legacy monsters such as Sky Striker Ace - Roze, Witchcrafter Genni and Marincess Pascalus brought powerful aid to popular strategies, while “splashable” picks like Sales Pitch, Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag and Lightning Storm powered up all sorts of strategies! Now Duelists have a second chance at the cards they missed the first time around, at a friendly price point with plenty of perks.
Intrepid Duelists can collect 2 preview cards from the 2020 Spring Booster set Eternity Code, weeks before its full release. You may also find 2 new Link Monsters: Cyberse Accelerator is an easy-to-make Link-2 that buffs a Cyberse-Type monster it points to, gaining it 2000 ATK or allowing it to make 2 attacks; and Gouki Destroy Ogre is a high-impact Link-4 with 2800 ATK. It protects the monsters it points to from battle, and its effect calls forth Goukis from your Graveyard for instant tag team action! All 4 cards are Super Rares, and you’ll find 2 of them in each Special Edition.
Ignition Assault Special Edition arrives March 6, each with 3 Ignition Assault booster packs and 2 of 4 Super Rare variant cards. MSRP: $9.99 per box.
Get ready to overload the system with the Duel Overload Collector’s Set! It’s the biggest collection of new Link Monsters you’ve ever seen, with 30 new Links and a total of 56 new cards! Whether you’re looking for flexible Link Monsters that can fit different Decks, or specialized Link Monsters for specific strategies, Duel Overload’s got it. A new “Predaplant” Link Monster copies the effects of “Fusion” and “Polymerization” Spells straight from your Deck, a new Bujin assembles Xyz Summons to devastate your opponent’s backrow, and the Sky Strikers find a new Link-2 threat. Duel Overload even unleashes one of the most powerful monsters of all time, the Link Monster Crystron Halqifibrax! Link Summon it with a Tuner plus any other monster, and Halqifibrax hits the field to Special Summon a Level 3 or lower Tuner from your hand or Deck. Then, on your opponent’s turn you can banish Halqifibrax to Special Summon a Tuner Synchro from your Extra Deck!
Beyond the arsenal of Link Monsters you’ll find 26 more new cards, including new additions to the Malefic and Cubic strategies from the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions and Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time feature films. There are 44 reprints too, including top tournament cards like Cynet Mining, played in everything from Mathmechs and Marincess to @Ignisters and Salamangreats! With 43 more cards returning in this all-Ultra Rare release, Duel Overload is your chance to get caught up and get ahead of the pack.
Duel Overload reaches critical mass on March 20, and each box has 6 Duel Overload boosters with 5 Ultra Rare cards per pack, plus 1 of 6 special oversized collectible cards with a design style inspired by the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series. The complete Duel Overload booster set contains 100 cards. MSRP: $29.99 per set.
