In 2017, Fat Brain Toys held its first annual Kidventor contest to celebrate the creativity and inventiveness of kids. The contest, which guaranteed the winner a prize package including a $2,500 scholarship, future royalties, and a trip to Toy Fair in New York City, drew over 160 entries in its inaugural year. Eleven-year-old Alexander Xiong of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, was chosen as the grand prize winner by a panel of industry judges.

"After reviewing all the submissions, it was really difficult to choose just one winner," explained Karen Carson, co-founder of Fat Brain Toys. "Alexander's invention stood out from the rest because of its simple genius, but also because it was inspired by his love for his sister, who has autism."

Alexander's invention, Door Pong, is a "no fail" version of ping pong that can be easily mounted in any doorway. Alexander will be demonstrating his winning invention in the North lobby of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center at Toy Fair on Saturday, February 17, 2018.

In addition to Door Pong, Fat Brain Toys will also be introducing 36 items that include modern baby toys, board games, brainteasers, active play games and STEM-inspired building kits.
