Nine-Year-Old Texas Girl Joins the Ranks of Professional Toy Inventors
Kid-Inventor Emma Turner wins toy invention contest hosted by toy manufacturer Fat Brain Toys

ELKHORN, Neb., Nov. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Fat Brain Toys, one of the nation's leading independent toy companies, announced the winner of their latest kid-inventor toy contest, Kidventor. With a product titled "Buggy Light," nine-year-old Emma Turner of Marble Falls, Texas won a $2,500 scholarship plus the opportunity to have her invention manufactured and sold worldwide.

Nine-year-old Kidventor 2018 Winner Emma will see her invention "Buggy Light" on shelves next year with Fat Brain Toys.

The winning entry for 2017's Kidventor contest, Door Pong, has been flying off store shelves since its release in September. Eleven-year-old Alexander Xiong of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota was the inaugural winner of the Kidventor contest.

"We had plenty of creative inventions to choose from this year, but Emma's Buggy Light really won us over with its sheer innovation," explained Mark Carson, Co-Founder of Fat Brain Toys and one of this year's Kidventor judges. "She took something that bugs do naturally and harnessed it into a device that will be entertaining AND educational for kids of all ages."

This year's panel of judges included Co-Host of NPR's Wow In The World Podcast Mindy Thomas, President of the Parents' Choice Foundation Claire Green, and Fat Brain Toys Co-Founder Mark Carson.

In addition to the $2,500 scholarship, $500 prize pack, and ongoing royalties, Emma and her mother will be flown to New York City in February to present her invention at the American International Toy Fair.
