Toy Fair Creative Factor Session: Navigating the Process of Global Toy Production

January 28, 2019 | Your great idea is now a prototype. So how do you now make 100,000 of them? Learn to navigate the complex world of global toy production during an informative session at Toy Fair New York.

From getting the right source files and prototypes to a factory to choosing the vendors that best suit your needs, “Sourcing Products and Manufacturing Overseas,” presented by Charles Berzon of Pro Source Global, will help inventors and designers steer through the different aspects, terminology, and stages of global toy production. Attendees will gain insight into international sourcing, manufacturing, importing, and learn the difference between injection molding, roto casting, vacuum forming, and more. The session takes place on Saturday, February 16 from 2 to 3 p.m. (Creative Factor Theater, Hall 1D Lobby), and is a part of the expanded Creative Factor educational programming, free to all Toy Fair registrants.

“Global toy production can be a daunting process,” said Marian Bossard, executive vice president of global market events at The Toy Association. “This session will help inventors and designers understand a complicated process by easily explaining terminology, different formats of mass production, and critical issues related to importing and successful manufacturing.”

Guided by a new Advisory Board, show organizers have enhanced the Creative Factor programming specifically tailored to the toy inventor and designer community. All Toy Fair registrants are welcome to participate in a full schedule of free roundtables, presentations, workshops, and panels focused on the interests and goals of inventors, designers, and others in the creative community. Sessions will be held throughout the four days in the Creative Factor Theater (Hall 1D Lobby).

In addition, toy manufacturers are invited to hear product pitches from select inventors and designers during The Toy Association’s inaugural “CF@TF Inventor Day,” taking place on Friday, February 15.

Toy Fair New York will take place February 16 to 19 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
