Toy Fair® 2023 Empowers Innovators & Unlocks Opportunities for Inventor Community

September 22, 2023 | From top-tier industry education to an exclusive product pitch session, Toy Fair® will showcase its support for the inventor and designer community throughout the show floor. The global event, taking place at the Javits Center in New York City from September 30 to October 3, promises to be a hub for innovators to connect and network.

“The inventor and designer community is the creative heartbeat of the toy industry, and Toy Fair serves as the ultimate platform where their innovations come to life,” said Kimberly Carcone, executive vice president of global market events at The Toy Association™. “From organizing world-class education to a ‘how-to’ guide to enter the world of toys, we are dedicated to providing our unwavering support to foster the collaboration that drives our industry forward.”

Toy Fair University
Nearly 70 experts are set to present more than 35 sessions over the four-day event, including a wealth of educational content for inventors, designers, and the creative community. Click here to access the Creative Factor session track.

Toy Fair University will also offer additional digital sessions specifically for inventors and designers after the event. More details will be announced in the coming months.

United Inventors Association
The United Inventors Association (UIA) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing resources, education, and advocacy to the inventing community. Representatives from the organization will be at Toy Fair in booth No. 988 to talk to inventors and offer free resources.

The Toy Association and UIA Toy Hub collaborated to debut the latest edition of the Toy Inventor & Designer Guide, which features important tips to successfully bring a toy to market, including information on how to gauge whether an idea is unique, cost-effective, safe, and legally protected. The guide also offers resources on selling an idea/invention to a toy manufacturer and bringing a product to market, in addition to a list of organizations and state and federal government agencies that are available to help.

Creative Factor Inventor Day
Nearly 30 toy inventors and designers will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to top toy professionals and manufacturing partners at Creative Factor Inventor Day, taking place October 3 at Toy Fair.

“The toy industry always needs fresh new ideas, and through The Creative Factor and UIA Toy Hub, independent inventors, now more than ever, have a clear and precise path to licensing opportunities,” said Matt Nuccio, executive board member of the UIA and president of Design Edge. “I am very proud of all that we have achieved with the Toy Association over the past year, and I very much look forward to creating more opportunities for the independent toy inventor community.”

The full lineup of Toy Fair University educational programming is curated to address the most pressing needs of the global toy industry. Toy Fair will take place September 30 to October 3 in New York City. Attendee registration is now open. Visit ToyFairNY.com to learn more.
